Percy Jackson and the Lightning Theif

Percy and Grover's friendship is so sweet and Annabeth is the best, I love the way all the characters are portrayed

A Court of Silver Flames
by Sarah J. Maas

While this is the longest of Maas's ACoTaR, I found it to also be the most engaging. I felt like some of the previous books, except perhaps the first one, struggled to find a good balance between the romance and fantasy elements, especially when getting into the fantasy war material. But this one, for me at least, found a really strong middleground between them, contrasting back and forth in a way that kept me on board throughout its runtime. But then, I might just be biased because Nesta starts off wildly toxic and self-destructive and I'm a sucker for that kind of character arc.

Against The Grain

Now I am curious about the other books in the series. Since obviously this is the last one. This one was interesting and was able to stand alone., but I felt like I missed out on a lot of the history.

Wanted your house it’s a fun book talking about a boy his mom is looking for a house to buy but she can’t afford it

Career of Evil

This book definitely keeps you on your toes. Cormoran Strike is at again trying to solve cases with his side kicks and new characters. Definitely read this in a day as I wanted to know what happened next. The series follows the same characters but the story lines change. This book is a little gruesome in nature at times hence the 4-star review.

The fallen and the kiss of dusk

This book and the one prior to it could have been combined into one. The main character of this book doesn’t have enough personality to carry 2 books.

The ice cream flavors were more interesting to me than this book. The story just never took off… guess I won’t be reading the rest of the series.

Sister, Maiden, Monster

This was a super weird cosmic/body horror pandemic fiction with a healthy dash of queer diversity. I think I enjoyed it? If nothing else, I was unsettled and morbidly curious to find out what happens next. I feel like it's something that would require a second pass to really dissect any stand-out themes, and I'm not sure if I found it interesting enough to want to revisit it in the future.
