Hang the Moon

Quite a bit of death but strong characters. Many twists but the women ended up being the power house in the end. Infidelity, money and struggle for power.

The ice cream flavors were more interesting to me than this book. The story just never took off… guess I won’t be reading the rest of the series.

Six Scorched Roses

I loved this novella! I wish it was longer. Great short story about Vale and Lilith. I finished it in one sitting.

The Worst Ronin

Read this for my YA Book Club coming up. I've read a couple of Tokuda-Hall's books, and this one is just as enjoyable as her previous works. She has a real knack for writing rude, but endearing characters. The character work on display here was heightened by the incredible (and at times adorable) artwork. Themes of vengeance and loss run up against one another to really make one consider the roles both play in our lives.

Gay the Pray Away

I really wish they went more into the development of the girls’ relationship. It felt very rushed and abrupt. However, an important story as this sadly happens to people out there.

Every book in this series gets better and better! Hope to see these 2 characters in the following duet.

How to Survive in Medieval England

This book tackles different life skills needed to survive during the Middle Ages in England. I especially enjoyed learning about using medicinal plants for healing sickness back then.

The Keeper Of Lonely Spirits

It's lonely to live forever. Peter has lost everyone who ever meant something to him. He spends his time as a ghost hunter, separate from the living until he comes to a new town and starts to connect to the people there. A cozy queer romance/suspense novel about grief, found family, and redemption.

Colored Television

This was witty and thought provoking! Credit due there - some of it may be a bit slow for me. And I had a hard time caring for the characters as much as I was thinking about the conversation being had. I did like the ending, any other “win” would have been unrealistic.

What an emotional read! I enjoyed every page of this book. This is the third book of hers that I’ve read because I really like TJR’s writing style.
